This is the Tamiya Bf 109E-3 kit, converted to an E-1. I did the conversion by filling in the gun bulges on the bottom of the wings with Tamiya Epoxy putty, sanding off the bulges, and not attaching the cannon barrels.

There really isn't much else to say about assembly. My modeling mojo has been low over the past few months, which is why this one took so long. The decals are from Aeromaster 48-496 Blitzkrieg on Poland part 1. This subject is bi-chromatic, with all of the exterior either RLM 65 (bottom) or RLM 70 (top). I used my Tamiya mix for the RLM 65. I mixed it some time ago and didn't note the ingredients, but it is probably the mix Tamiya recommends in the instructions, which is 2 parts XF-23 to 1 part XF-2. The RLM 70 is XF-27 Black Green.

As mentioned above, the assembly was pretty straightforward, until the very last step, which was attaching the rear section of the canopy. I kind of fumbled that. I did use my own custom mask for the canopy. I created an SVG file and used my Silhouette Portrait to cut it. It took a couple of tries, and some of the pieces still weren't quite right, but it was good enough for me. Here is a link to the SVG file that I used to cut the mask.
