This kit has been staring me in the face for quite a while, so I decided to give it a go. I also wanted to try something different. I watched a review of Badger Stynylrez primer on YouTube, and in one of the comments a modeler said that he used a mixture of artist acrylic paint and Future to prime. That sounded intriguing, so I decided to try it.

There was nothing particular difficult about the assembly, but I did have to run masking tape from under the wing tips to over the fuselage to close the gaps at the wing roots. I primed with a mixture of Future and Liquitex soft body white. I had done some tests, and this appeared to be a good primer for a NMF. I used AMMO 0194 Flat Aluminum for the exterior. My concern with the acrylic primer was, would I be able to mask over it? The answer was yes. I used AMMO 0237 FS23070 USAAF Olive Drab for the bombs and the anti-glare panel, and AMMO 125 Gold Yellow (RLM 04) for the cowling and tip of the spinner. I used Tamiya XF-7 Flat Red and XF-1 Flat Black for the fin and tailplanes. Come to think of it, I don't think I used any solvent-based paint at all on this kit, which was kind of the point.

The decals are from Eagle Strike 48083 362nd Jugs Part 1. I tried to use the kit decals for the stencils on the prop, but the first one I tried fell apart on me, so I just skipped the rest of the stencils. I used an EZ Mask on the canopy, and it worked well. I tried to attach the sway braces on the drop tank after attaching the drop tank, but that didn't work out, so I left them off.

Build completed June, 2021.
